Speakeasy Electro-Swing at Prohibitiondancing at Prohibition (map) Friday, February 3, 2012 This Friday dance location is relatively new. Fridays the DJ plays electro swing (example http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=%2F&gl=US#/watch?v=j95HbhTl60k - sort of techno meets classic swing!) and some dancers have been coming and having a good time. The dj loves playing for us dancers, and the staff have treated us well so we like to tip well, even if only for water. It's a trendy speakeasy-themed place where bartenders wear suspenders and newsboy hats and the waitresses are in flapper dresses, so if you feel like dressing up a bit and buying a drink or two — come check it out! *Prohibition is connected to the Galleria at the corner of Westheimer and Sage with a patio area visible from the street - parking is below Niemann Marcus . . . . . |

Dance Force Productions - Extreme Swingintermediate-advanced lindy classes by Jerry & Robin Each Tuesday . beginning September 6th Extreme Swing is an Intermediate/Advanced Lindy class taught & directed by Jerry Foote & Robin Carlson of Dance Force Productions. Advanced techniques, musicality, aerials & dips, and stage presence will be taught, along with performance opportunities. A very close ratio of Leads & Follows will be ensured, as well as the level of ability of dancers taking the class. We will rotate partners throughout class, but if a couple wants to train exclusively with each other, that is acceptable. Prerequisites: Must have basic Lindy training (6 count & 8 count), be able to do swing outs & turns without hesitation, and understand lead/follow concept. Must have the fitness level needed to begin learning dips and aerials. FEES: $48/month or $40/person if a male & female register together.
